This is where the gray beards get to see if any of the "youngin's" can identify an old VW tool. No Google searches please, either you know it or you don't. And no old dudes either, since you've probably worn out this tool twice over.

To me it looks like the tool you use to get the greasecaps off of the front drums. Never understood why you would use such a big tool I just use a screwdriver and a hammer And if it is not that (it is hard to judhe the size without a reference) it might well be a flywheel puller.

Dr. there is a ruler under it on the picture !! i think its the specialist extraction tool for when you dropped your crack-pipe and it fell under the seat and got wedged in the seat rail . i also have a picture i will add later , as i'm clearing out my garage back in england and have found a bent rusty thing .. its definately a vw tool , but i havent got a fricken clue what it is !!!

In all fairness to the Dr., the vernier caliper was not in the original photo. I replaced the photo after he correctly commented on the lack of a reference measurement. My mistake not his. Now I'm sure there's an old codger out there with an obscure VW tool, who's just itching to play "stump the kiddies". and no, I didn't say "stomp the kitties"....knuckleheads!

Is it for vw repairs ? It looks like a puller or sometype of clip compressor of sometype, But that would be to ez.

Since none of the young guys have identified this tool, its time for a seasoned citizen to nail it. So have at it.

Some are old proto, when they made nice hammers. Some are snap-on that I tuned on heavilly. Most of all that stuff I found used and reworked to my needs.
