What do you think of these seats in black for the Manx? They are replica AC Cobra seats.

Thanks,

Think "weather."  The AC Cobra seats look like water would collect in a couple different spots.  That's just my way of thinking, though.

Those look nice.

That could be an issue. But then it will with almost any seat. Its hard to find a set of comfortable seats that don't look too modern.

Thanks,

My other options so far are these in all black vinyl:

or these and have them recovered in vinyl. (White with blue or orange piping?)

Any other suggestions, besides caddy couches or plastic buckets? If I could find a set of MG seats, that would be perfect.

I wonder how hard it would be to fab up a set from aluminum? It is very similar to a bomber seat. To bad I can't weld aluminum.

I like the looks as well but my butt doesn't like the ride. I am getting to old to put up with uncomfortable seats on long drives. (Plus I have back problems)

I would bet you could find some on one of the Hot Rod sites.  Retro style hot rods are very much in vogue and I would bet some bomber seats are being reproduced at this time.  Check out Street Rodder or Rod & Custom for ads.

That is a good idea Don, I will check it out. How are things with you these days. What did you decide to do on the engine?

I'm going to put it back together as 2165.  It looks like we can save the head.  The cam is good, but the lifters are going away.  I will put in a set of Udo's lifters.  I will up the compression a little.  The pacing item will be the lifters as Alan is out of them at the moment.  Otherwise things are good.

Speedway motors sells some repro bomber seats that are pretty nice. Not too sure how comfy they are though.

Some of the guys on thesamba recommend Mazda MX5 / Miata / Eunos seats - my other half's sister had one for a little while and they are comfy. Some even have headrest speakers too! The are a highback, but a small one. Might be worth looking out for? I like the fibreglass buckets, but I know what you mean about comfort.

All i did was buy some foam from the local market and made the internal padding to fit ME and my driving position - I will post some clearer pic's of the seats soon so you can see what I did, its a cheap way to make a very cool looking AND comfortable seat  Smiley
