MAHLE Baby burners clerance problem

As in the topic.

I've got Mahle baby burners fited on CB Dropped spindles and 2" narrowed Cb ball joint beam with thisc brakes.
I grinded lower trailing arm around ball joint seat to allowe the boll joing go further. I also grinded the inner rim of the wheel.  the beam is adjusted almost in the top - I would like to drop the car a little bit more - but in this moment it scraches during turning right and on bumps on the road - eaven those small ones (yes we've got holes and bumps on the roadas ) . the ball joint is really near the rim.

What do you do with your baby burners to stop that thing?
I don't wanna to put spacers between the wheel and disck or go back to std spindles.
any adwices?

PS.. where to buy the caps for BBs?

You need to get a taper reamer and cut the taper deeper into the spindle so that the ball joint will sit in further and move away from the wheel. Don't go too deep, ream a little bit and refit to see if you have gone far enough.

I got an engineer friend to do this and have no problems with the balljoint hitting the wheel rim now.

I had the same problem with my pedrini's. The quick grinder did the trick with me

I had a couple of before and after pics with it all fitted up but photobucket seems to have binned one of my albums, I'll have a look around see if I can find the originals. I don't have any pictures of the process though.

by the way did You used the balljoint for lowered front suspension?

hey All,

I'm pickung up my spindles today from machine shop, I asked to put the balljoint 3mm deeper  hope it won'e be too much. I was shocked with the price 2 holes 250zl each do 500zl plus vat so almost a price of a new set of spindles... but the babyburners are more important 

I'll show the effects soon,
gotta hurry up cuz on sunday we've got darg racing event.

3mm should be plenty. I really like those rims!

hey Zach,

plenty I thought the same this planty made about 1,5-2 mm space between rim and the balljoint no rubbing any more but I grinded also the balljoint seat in the front controll arm
