And whats the preferred mounting method? Have heard various ways, mounting them on allow blocks, rivetted direct to the body etc.

Any info would be useful!

Hi KB

For flush fit windows, 3mm seems to be the way to go, i believe the outside edges are thinned down to suit the curve of the body of the car, edges are masked and painted black, then riveted on. although there may also be a way of using tiny screws, someone on here will be able to advise better how all this is done.
I would always recommend using the "Margard" version of Lexan though, its the scratch resisitant one, bit more expensive but worth every penny of the extra.

As a note, maybe use an acrylic based paint and always paint an offcut first and leave it a while to check the reaction, Lexan as with most plastics is alergic to solvents.

I use 4mm stainless button heads to fix in place, much easier to remove if you need to, the paint model shops sell for R/C car bodies is perfect for painting the edges. Smiley
