Looking great Ole. What colour is it going to be. I got the '52 from a very good friend who died 2 years ago at the age of only 40! I know he wanted to paint the car the same colour as my recently sold '53 ragtop, so that's exactly what I'll do. I'll kinda build my '53 again, this time with a '52 body shell. Here are two pics of my old '53, so you can get an idea. This is what I read one page back.  |

Today I put the shell back on the pan to see how the left heater channel and the "new" doors fit. The distance between A- and B-pillar on the left side is 11mm wider than on the right side... I expected trouble like this, so I installed an "A-pillar-adjuster"  Before adjustment:  after adjustment:  It looks much better now, but the A-pillar still needs to go a little backwards. This is how I'm trying to convince it to do so...   I also removed the bondo on the right quarter panel.  WHY    The aftermarket sheet metal parts are really cheap, but they fit like sh***. Check the angle they welded the front plate of the heater channel... I'll have to cut it and weld it back together   Saludos, Ole |

That's just what made sense. I wanted something solid enough to keep the stuff in place, then I wanted to have the possibility to do some adjustment if neccesary with both doors closed. I'm still waiting for some parts so I continued removing dirt, rust and old paint. A friend of mine stopped by and said something like ".. it's a piece of sh*#, but at least the window sealing frames are still good..." Well, that was before I removed the bondo... Here are two shots of the windshield sealing frame:   It's been "repaired" some time ago, I wonder how it looked BEFORE they welded it, shouldn't have been too bad I guess... Even the original water drain holes are still there!!   The other frames look the same except of the rear window frames.    Saludos, Ole |

autogerma is the importing for VW in Italy... where i found it? i'm Italian and i got the same kit on my 1600..but i got 36 idf those idf's are old...maybe used on Fiat 124 sport for nicolas: recent IDF don't have "the squirter" but this kind of IDF got it... i think to give more fuel at high rpm.. |

I've been sick over the X-mas holidays, so no progress at the '52...  Last weekend I felt it's time to start working at the car again I cut out the left quarter panel and trial-fitted the right quarter panel. Doesn't look too bad. I hope to get the rear fenders next weekend, I want to see it all together before I start welding...    Then It was time to get rid of the holes in the firewall. I counted 52 holes between 2mm and 30mm dia...  almost done  The left side window frame needed some attention also   That was Sunday afternoon, my neighbours would have killed me if I'd grinded down the weldings...
