A Bertone? No loss, there. I worked at a VW dealer in Norwalk back in the '80s as a Service Adviser. We actually sold those things. Bizarre little cars that were always in the shop. Drove more of 'em than I care to remember. Thanks for the cruel memories, Jim.

yeah but did your dealer have this special edition? I think it was a towing package or something.

I owned a 1982 X19 for a good while and I liked it. It was a dependable, economical and fun little car. Only real problem was the handbrake wasn't very effective. There's a story about that....later.

Eh, coming from the south that's no big deal. I can remember seeing a a MGB hard top mounted on a To#¤ta 4x4 chassis that was jacked up about five feet off the ground.

HAHA!! Good point... you're right, we never had that um, special edition.

That's funny, Louis... the fact that this pic didn't surprise you. I can honestly say that I've only seen people do that crud to El Caminos in So Cal.
