Wow, 2500Km via France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and then ferry to Finland Shocked
That's nearly twice as far as driving to SCC Shocked One way only!!!

Didn't know the russians do drag racing as well, guess you just don't hear about it. What cars do they bring?

Just from logistics point of view..

Don't know whereabouts in UK you're located but, since you mentioned France, maybe you touch the mainland Europe soil at Calais..

So, based on maps.google.com from Calais, France to Gardermoen, Norway is 1723 km. From Calais to Stockholm, Sweden is 1729 km.

Overnight (aka "drilling platform") ferry from Stockholm, either to Turku or Helsinki and you're around 90 km away from the event in either of the cities.

So 90 kilometres more than SCC plus the ferry Wink

And on Friday, a day before VW Open there will a Slugs dyno day event with a barbeque, located just on the way from Helsinki to VW Open.

All foreign visitors arriving on Thursday will get a complimentary garage tour at the Slugs garage, Helsinki street cruising in fast vws and of course plenty of beers + a place to crash at the garage. Now is that enough of a deal I ask you?  Cool

Will the WWF stars be there?? (Wild Wrestlers of Finland ) I ask because I heard that one of them recently sustained a career ending shoulder injury while attempting to turn off the dome light in his Super Beetle, from the passenger side.

Suggestion for t-shirts:
Front, "It's all about the amplitude..."
Back, "...VW-Open 2010."

Jiihaa!
This is the first time that I see proof that my car lifts the front tires!
It never happened before and I have only had this car since 1978. I made my first 11 sec pass in 1985 with the same car.

Great picture, thank´s Eric.

Who owns the pearl white panel on Fuchs in that video and the picture above? I would really appreciate seeing some pictures of it if possible.

Two days of VW-events in Finland : 21.5. friday Slugs-dynoday, 22.5. saturday VW-OPEN

Come here and see/feel the difference of these Finnnish happenings!

Is this the year when the first Swedish will come to Finland? We have had here Russians, Norwegians, USA-guy...

Some reasons to visit these Finlands VW-happenings:

-we have cheaper beer than i Norway
-we have more beetles than in Russia
-we have more snow than in California
-we have here more Suomi-sisu than in Sweden

Think about these...

 ;)Jussi
