does anyone know if ryan reeds 61 ragtop is still about? i think it was sold to one of the gfk.i did like that car even if the rear was lowered slightly Roll Eyes nicely detailed alround and wouldve been a great cal look car with a few minor adjustments Wink it was running a 1776 and fuchs when it was featured in volksworld.it was also featured in hot vws along side sarges car.

I think this is it.  Last I heard, it was in AZ.

I always liked that car a lot, the Hot VW's issue it was in is one of my favorites!

I think that car was very under rated, Maybe because it hit the seen and sold very quick. Both ryon and work mate aron at the time both had unreal built cars. Both guys also build some real nice hot rod stuff. Just my 2 1/2 cents

Yep, same guy. I think the cars were built at about the same time, too.

Agreed on the latter. Would be cool... it's an otherwise nice car. But... to each their own.

Here a bad pic of them together....  This is at DKP Cruise night, Aaron's first trip out w/ the green '57.  it had a crowd around it all night.  Ryan's car did as well, but I think they had all seen it before.

X2. Those are the gayest mirrors one could put on a VW. It ruins the car for me.

Aaron has his own shop now, not sure what Ryan's doing now.

aarons car is a piece of artwork for sure.one thing that puzzles me though is the solid mounting and the really short gearbox pretty much the same as my own car.theres so much torque in that motor does it really need a gearbox that does 49mph at 3000rpm? i mean its a sort of hotrod beetle.the guys building hot rods dont stick a really short gear in it because they like to drive miles on the freeway Huh aarons car also has a welded in midmount.i know it could be changed but its alot of work when its that pretty under there.
