Can't say I share your enthusiasm for the white stuff Eric... Haven't taken any pictures for you, but you get the the idea when you look at the other Norwegian pics.. Oh, and by the way, it's -31C/-23F outside at the moment..

Brrrr - that's chilly! It's unseasonably cold here in Texas now (highs ~30°F/-1°C and lows ~15°F/-10°C), but with plenty of sun and no snow or ice.

Althought it was taken while I was in Finland last Spring (late April), I thought that this photo would fit well in this thread:

"Hell is a village in Lånke, Stjørdal, Norway with a population of 352. It has become a minor tourist attraction because of its name, as visitors often have their photograph taken in front of the station sign. The station sign reads "Gods-expedition", an archaic Norwegian (but current Danish) spelling of the word for "cargo handling" - godsekspedisjon would be the current spelling."

There's more white stuff falling from the sky again in Texas today!

We had ~2 inches on the ground this morning at 6:00am when I left for work, and the snow is supposed to continue throughout the day for possible accumulations of up to 5-6 inches. I better fire up the snow plow and get out the emergency rations  Wink

I stopped by Wal-Mart this morning to buy my daughters some gloves for an after school snowball fight, and found that they didn't have a winter glove, hat, or jacket anywhere in the store (!) - they did have plenty of shorts and tank tops though.... Grin

We had record setting snow fall in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) last last week.

It snowed all day and most of the night on Thursday. The DFW airport recorded 12.5 inches (~32cm) of snow in 24 hours, which is more snow than has fallen in a single day since they started keeping track over 110 years ago.

Area schools were closed on Friday, so we had plenty of fun playing in the snow. It warmed up over the weekend, so much of the snow was gone by Monday morning and Frosty the Snowman was looking a little wimpy... Cry

Here are some before, during, and after pics from my house/neighborhood:

...and last but not least - the SCC snow angel! Grin

During the military recruit training at Værnes outside Trondheim, we all had to do guard duty at the different gates into the facility. One of those gates were facing Hell, so I can truly say I have guarded the gates to Hell.... Smiley

Eric, 12.5 inches of snow in 24 hours  Shocked Shocked That is alot even by Norwegian standards! We better speed up that global warming....

No snow in Texas so far this winter, but we broke out the sleds for some fun while at my Mom's house with the family last weekend Grin

This sled was mine when I was a kid, but I remember it being larger. The hot Texas summers must have shrunk it... Wink

If you've got snow in your part of the world, let's see some pics!

Tuesday afternoon : 30cm of fresh snow, stops snowing during the evening, freezing, then start snowing again during the past night until this evening : 50cm more in my mountains. Hopefully I had the great idea to get 4 studded tires for my daily driver.

Last night it was -17.5 ºC or 0.5 ºF below and the snow made creaking noises.  Didn't feel like taking the bug out for a drive.
