I'm trying to make my Oval look like this in the coming year. Metallic gold paint, Black vinyl Diamond stitch interior, vintage performance 36 horse engine with Wolfsburg West Okrasa style kit and all the old vintage goodies. All I have are the renderings of what has been floating around in my head, but i hope it'll become reality in 2010
Here's what it looks like now
Here's my plans:

An easy year for me and the VW Gasser Garage with no EBI this year.
My sons 67 in Ruby Red with flat 4 BRM's, body at painters now, pan being built as we speak.
Tar Babe, get finished and raced..... only install gearbox and engine, wiring, brakes and wheels, seatbelts to go.
Replica 55 old gasser..... watch this space.
Race Shop Crew cab, to complete
Restore Stutt Bee's original pan
finish 57 old school cal looker for the classic
easy !

I have started already, ripped out the solid mounts from my 67.
Gearbox is in with rubber mounts
All the tinware is back from the powder coaters. Fit engine
Fit a radio as I will be able to hear again
Get Betelegeuse back on track.Fit new type 2 box
Engine is built all I need to do is fit the Ron Lummus turbo kit.
Hopefully the hard work will be done in the snowy months and the summer is good

Redo the pan on my 66 with WW pans, stainless brake lines, mid mount/kafer bar of some sort. Then finish the interior off and re-do the wheels a little darker.

I am looking for anyone that may have pictures of small cars ( Fiat NSU BMW Mini Cooper ) and others that may be using VW front and rear suspention for these small cars this will give me some ideas.
Thanks
Frenchy

On the 600 I used stock front suspension but put on spindles/disc's from a 124/128 Fiat worked very well (had custon 15" wheels made at CMS for the 4 x 98 lug pattern)-- and orginally used the stock IRS rear trailing arms on the 600 modified to hold a VW IRS carrier with VW IRS trans
Put some pictures up of what is there on you car and I'll throw some suggestions your way

Dick, are you going to retain the current stance of your car? It sits nice, the way it is. The artist's renderings seem too low. Are you going to bring back the factory looking horn grilles or omit them, completely? Overall, it should prove to be a cool looking car.

I always draw cars lower than they are or should be, they just look better in a front, rear, side or 3/4 view sketch that way
I plan on leaving the car at the same height, or only adjusting the rear a bit after I get a set of Firestone Wide Ovals like in the pics. (They may add a bit of height) But I don't plan on going much lower if at all. I love the way it sits now.
As for the grills, I'll probably switch them back to stock.

Projects for winter 2010:
Rebuild the 2387cc engine for my 1960 racecar Berserk, and have the car ready for Big Bang in the UK in april.
Do some minor adjustments to my 1977 baywindow bus, and use it as a tow car for the Big Bang trip.
Put a engine in my Ghia and get it back on the road again (no more racing).

Very cool! My dad used to clean those and P-51's when he was in Air Cadets in the early 50's
