I thought it appropriate to share with you all, the very cool thank you letter we received from the Fullerton Chief of police for the donations from the DKP "Santa's lil Helper" Cruise last month.

Thanks go out to everyone that participated by attending, obeying the traffic laws and giving generously to a good cause. You made the VW community shine!!

The letter is posted on our website:

Right on, Dustin... thanks for posting that. I must agree with Mr. Rosique; D.K.P. has always been something to be admired.

DKP, what a GREAT bunch you are!   With the economy, others need for help is everyday, but you take your giving spirit and let it run over the top. I have no doubt that there are kids who will recall Christmas 2009 with a smile due to your generosity.

Now the letter from Mike Sellers...I'd often wondered what became of him?
In 1975 when I bought some of those of "crappy English made EMPI" wheels from him, he was an officer. I see he's done well for himself...another VW guy who's risen to the top!

Good for DKP, how about a copy of that letter for each active member.
Maybe in Fullerton it'll work as well as the 11-99 membership?

Like a brass pass?  Wink
If I lived in Fullerton I'd get a copy for my wife's car too.  Cool

Frenchy,
If you do get to talk to Mike, mention the "FOR SALE" ad he placed on the window of Steve Setzers Sepia brown '67- 6 BRM's
Probably Bug In 15? (spring 1975) .
I still wonder how many calls I made before I reached him, as DVB was the host club and had to stay to help clean up OCIR after the Bug In was over. I had a lot of nice conversations with his Dad before I got to talk to Mike, I remember that well.
And, like the collector I am, I still have the same wheels 35 years later.
