Never tried Aftermarket Tubes...
I'm using OG VW "CT" Tubes on my engine, but you have to Modify you Heads to accept them...

There's only one aftermarket PR tube that works properly and that is JayCee. I little bit more expensive but definatly worth it. Beware of fakes though. Buy from the source or from an authorized dealer like Vee Dub Parts Unlimited (

)

I used Scat pushrod tubes on 4 engines. On two engines I used them to replace leaky original tubes. The other 2 engines I built from scratch with Scat big mouth spring loaded push rod tubes. I am very happy with them. Just make sure to clean the mating surface perfectly and I mean
perfectly
. On one engine I used Dow Corning silicone grease to seal them instead of Loctite 574 what I normally use. It worked without any problem what so ever. Again make sure the mating surface is thoroughly clean, align the tubes well and make sure to seat it properly.
Peace Dom
