Does anyone know the color to paint Koni shocks?  I have a perfectly good pair of Koni rear shocks for my Bug, but they are discolored and have overspray on them.  I would like to restore them before I swap out my KYB shocks and install these.

Yeah the color on mine is like yours only not as nice.  They are sort of Red/Orange in color.  I guess I will just find a color of red I like and repaint them.

Don,
Check out some of the Porsche 356 restoration websites.
You can buy a pre-matched spraycan of the correct Koni color and also the decals !

Donny,

Are you sure you need to repaint them?

If you removed the overspray with mineral spirts and then used detail clay then you may be able to polish them and seal or wax them.  The same procedure would be used if you had overspray on the exterior of your car.  Polishing them should bring back the color.

I'm using standard length. You'll only need the short ones if your beam is cranked way down.

I use stock lenght also Zach (dropped spindels and adjustable beam) before I bought the spindles I had bug pack short shocks.. they were really short way too short. Those koni's for Ascona are just a little bit shorter than STD ones.
By the way
have You ever adjusted Youre Konis? if yes how it was on the road? or strip?

The days of using short shocks ended when dropped spindles appeared.

Thats True Cheesy Totally diferent (much better) stearing with dropped spindles, more comfortable ride and wider range of shcks.

comming back to konis colour, the "new" classic shocks are avaliable in both black and red colour with the same old school logo (the one with wings), just as an info Smiley

by the way did any one used coil overs on front end (like Avo - does avo make coilovers for front susp.?)

Sorry for my late reply Ted. A couple of years ago a magazine tested several shocks round a track and the red Koni`s won. Richie use them on his cab and I have used them on both balljoint and linkpin beams and must say I`m very satisfied.

Hey Donny B,

I have a set of rear KONI's from a drag car I helped with in the 80's. They are the red ones.  I will dig them out if you need a color to go by.
