Don't know much about the Sandmaster's, but I know one of them was displayed by Scott McKenzie at Bug In 13 back in Oct 1974. I remind seeing a feature of the car in HVW's or VWGreat's... Fabs? Saludos, Ole

As I understand it Sandmaster had it's own line of parts, pulleys, sumps, breathers etc. Just curious if anyone had pic's of them? From what I heard it would have been around 1972 when their name appeared on parts. They offered a few different breathers and pulley covers as well.

Most of the stuff I have is from a story that Jim Wright did on them, back when. There are mostly off-road racecar photos (Bobby Ferro), shop photos, engine stuff, but I do not recall much in the way of product shots or information. Remind me next week when I get back into my cave (a Doug Berg saying)....

Sandmaster Co. 12945 Sherman Way North Hollywood California 91605
(213) 764-6436
Well thats what it says on their 72/73 Catalog!
They did their own valve covers in the DDS style with sandmaster written on them

Geoff
The power pulley you show, has a different logo to the ones shown on all the parts in their catalog. So it must either be earlier or later. They also had their own gauges, like the auto haus cylinder head temp one, with their logos on.
They also carried DDS and Scat manifolds etc.

Found the Sandmaster feature in Volkswagen Greats June 1974. It's obviously not the same car as in my first post, or it has been modified. I can send you the feature in better resolution if needed via email. Saludos, Ole

that car was first featured in hot vws April 1971, it has had some slight modifications when it appeared in vw greats
The most interesting part is that the Buggy bodies are actually supplied by another Company called Funco, and Sandmaster merely sold these on and also sold the accessories.
