So I see that A110 has rear suspension with something like swing axle in a Beetle and that they use straps to prevent excessive positive camber?

Yes Alpine A110 have the rear axle like the Renault 4cv, Renault Dauphine and Renault 8, it's very close from the VW swing axle. And yes straps are used to prevent an excessive positive camber and to limitate the travel of the suspensions.

Here's a pic I took, most of the A110 are always set on a negative camber.

So pics  Wink I will make a special post for the VWs later, I'm working on my pictures in the order of the cars number. I took about 900 photos, think I will have 500 or 600 good ones after sorting.

I will post here only very good pics, everything else will be on my FilckR page here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/by-nico86/sets/72157625949087160/  Wink

That's what I had on my Fiat. And that's what I wanted to do in my Bug. But that was before internet and before I found my first copy of Volksworld with an article about Cal-look by Keith in it Wink

Still, I'm thinking about installing some straps. Had a couple of scary moments already.

BTW - nice pictires. This roads are very... entertaining even in summer. I can't imagine how it is to race them in winter.

I'd like to try it too, it's used very often on swing axle sports cars. Just have to try and find the correct settings of the axle with the camber compensator and straps.
I talked to some Alpine-guy about the VW camber compensator, and about putting a similar system on their car. They've found the idea interesting, would be a thing to try too.

Roads are pretty fun in winter, and I was posted in a good condition place : others special-stages of the day were very smowy and icy. But that's what make the interest of the Monte-Carlo.
