How about creating a thread on cars with the AUTO HAUS LOOK?

I got into the scene in 1970 when a buddy of mine took me to one of the first bug-ins.  My first was BUG-IN 5.  He had attended all the first ones starting in 1968. I liked the trend at the time with flared fenders and big wheels, even though my 66 first had a set of chrome wheels on it.

I don't have a lot of shots of the early car but continue to find what I have. Attached is a BLACK and WHITE of the simple dash. It has a Cal Custom steering wheel and only a Steward Warner mechanical oil pressure guage when I first got the car. Later, after adding flared fenders, American 5 spoke mags and some body mods, paint and my first big motor (1968cc with a HOLLEY 2 Barrel), I added more gauges to the dash.

Here are some early photos of the car when I first finished it.  You will notice even back then I moulded off the exhaust cutouts.  I liked the clean look I had seen on some of the drag bugs that modified the rear apron.

Hey Bill...You would die if you saw some of my early 70's look clothes and hair. How funny!!! Very era correct stuff.

My orange 66 had 7" wheels in the front and 8"s in the rear.  I had BRIDGESTONE racing tires on the front)...the only way to get really low profile tires at the time) which said "FOR RACING PURPOSES ONLY" right on the tires.  The rears on mine were G60x15's that were about 8"-9" wide.  Even with flared fenders, the hung out pretty far.

I know that some of the early DKP guys had this look too...as no one had really solidly landed on the Cal Look yet...with the exception of a few.

I know this isn't exactly what you meant, but I always thought Mike Maize's car looked just like the Auto Haus logo.

I had a stock hood on the front of mine but wanted a hood lile Maize had.  Here is another shot that shows the front of my car. I was pictured with an old friend Earl.

Thanks, actually it was a very light blue. My old Kodacolor prints are slowly going away, kinda like my car at the time.
With a 36 and a glasspack it made more noise than HP  it's no wonder I had a hard time finding a VW club that
