When it comes to winter sports in general the Norwegians are so full of themselves, can't stand it.
Sorry! You live in the wrong country.

I remember how pissed off my Norwegian ex-manager was when after few beers he was told that likes of Dählie had only better dopings than others

I don't know about all this Norwegian stuff. I just want to see the USA kick Canada's ass in ice hockey on Sunday and put an end to all the Canadians babbling every 4 years about the only thing they have for recreation up there.

Canada has a really strong team this time, and under the leadership of Steve Yzerman and Mike Babcock what could go wrong? The defending champs Sweden don't really look to strong, but I hope they will do great as well (OK, I'm a Red Wing fan...
.)
I don't think our team is as strong as you think. Switzerland should have been an easy kill, but they proved to be a formidable foe, Crosby just barely taking the victory. They've got good players, but they don't seem to be a team.
I think the Sweds are a team to watch. Last Monday I bumped into the twins and Ohlun (?) out for a stroll on the seawall with a few others wearing green/blue. With the twins you get one of the best lines in the league, not to mention the top goal scorer. I'll be at their game tomorrow against the Fins.

You picked out the perfect game to go and see how the Finns take one more victory at the Olympics....

And again the Canadians organisers proved that they should never have got the olympic games. It`s been a row of small disaster from the opening ceremony to the ladies sprint yesterday.
Well, I guess when your news media has no other successes to report on, they gotta grab onto anything, no matter how trivial.
You can be sure our media do whatever they can to cover up for the hopeless organisation of the games. but when even the TV crew can`t do their job properly it makes it difficult to hide - unfortunately.
Well, I think I have to admit you're partly right. The vast majority of the people attending are having a great time. Today I was walking around the Russian pavilion and I saw 4 Norwegians showing their colours. One even had the Viking hat! So I thought I would ask them what they thought. At first he was hesitant to speak his mind, but I pushed for the truth. His words: "Poorly organized, Lousy transportation, and terrible ticket distribution". I have to agree on the last point. The official web site to buy tickets is the worst site I have had to deal with. The Viking's final words were that the pres of the IOC always gives a speech at the closing ceremony of every games, and he always proclaims this olympics as "the best ever". The Viking said he won't say that this time. We shall see.
The amount of people walking around the city are the most ever seen. City officials say that today there were more than they ever expected.

Far from it.
How many on the ICE are NHL or other professional players?

Glenn, I wouldn't say "far from it". The Canadian team has more experienced and older more established players and was heavily favored. So, I would call this a minor miracle, although compared to the 1980 USA team it's a distant 2nd.

I bet most of the players on both sides are NHL Pros that get paid in US dollars.

Love the pic Eric....did anyone see the Canadian press is crucifying Broduer? Talk about a tough crowd..he's only the best goalie statistically in the history of hockey....rabid those Canucks are...
And Glenn, I highly doubt the Canadian team threw the game due to their NHL status....all of the players are NHL on Canada and USA....but then again who knows what Bettman has up his sleeve......

Sorry if i implied that the game was fixed, it was not my intention. What I was attempting to point out is that both sides have highly paid professionals and many are team mates.
I know how the Canadians love hockey, it's a matter of national pride to win the Gold.... and no amount of money would persuade a native born Canadian to do differently.
It's like football, two teams enter and on any given day, either team can win. this time is was the USA's turn. Tomorrow... who knows.

The entrepreneurs are fast around here. Today walking around the tourist area, they already had T-shirts depicting the US victory, complete with a scene showing both teams on the ice and the final score on the board!

pretty amazing if you ask me, Canada and Russia, the 2 teams thought to be fighting it out for the gold are now fighting to stay alive. While not a miracle (US winning) it is a great accomplishment. The US has a bunch of young virutal nobodys vs 4 lines of superstars.
How many of the US players do you think would have made the Canadian team. I don't even think Miller would have made that team.
