Cal-look rubber

I´m trying to build my car in sort of a 79-80 look, I want cal look rubber on it, but I think the rubber has changed over the years.
Can anyone give me a hint on what rubbers I need to buy to avoid a rubber that dates the car?

Back in the early 80's the best ones on the market were the BugPack rubber kits they are still made in the USA The Problem back then was most of the companys that made the cal look rubber had crappy looking Seems where the rubber was joined together I was at a VW Shop Looking at Rubber for my 67 last week and they had both Bugpack and West coast metric Both looked Great but I would Go with the West coast metric The Seems are a little nicer Some of the kits out there now days are to wide they look Bad..

Did anyone use the VW "standard" rubber, I guess thats what the West Coast Metric rubber is styled after?

BTW, who has the best door seals? I had Wolfsburg west but they are so darn gray!

I've had WCM rubbers on my car for 14 years now with no sign of perishing, bit wider profile than genuine plain rubbers, just remember to use plenty of soapy water and a heavy friend!

yes me jon  the standard model is very different to an aftermarket cal look model

I have Standard rubber on my '65 and I think it looks good.



Rune took them from a standard 70'ies 1200 or something.

I would go for the std versions
OEM no longer exists, they are as OEM made on the orig tools
same EPDM quality, I wouldn't use the Callook Brasil seals
as for the door seals, same story, they are made on OEM moulds,
I would use them, they are the best, the Brasil ones look so black and look bad on any car
that's my opinion

yes i bought my set there -they have different kinds of quality but the high quality products are pretty much like the original parts. here's a scan of their catalogue
-point 1 says: precast
-a) for split profile b (original form)
-b) for all others profile a
-point 2: profile a not precasted
-point 3: profile b not precasted.
i've got profile a precasted and am very satisfied.
