I noticed that when I install my front shocks onto the bj beam with the wheel hanging in the air and the shock fully extended that the shock is approx 1" short.  I was wondering if the front shocks were designed this way to be a limiting factor to avoid damaging other front end parts or do I need longer shocks?

I am potentially missing 1" of weight transfer to the rear with these shocks.

Can I use some sort of shock exetender for the top stud?

I am using Boge shocks on the front.

Thanks

Hi Brandon,

What you described is normal on a stock BJ beam, and yes the shocks are built to limit travel unlike a K&L beam.
If you extend the top stud, you could over travel the ball joints, plus it limits your nose down travel...
