nice rim, i think we all are looking for a nice rim on our car. and as cool as the more classic rims are (brm, fuchs, 5 spokes,riviera,...) we all are looking for that special rim that fits our cal-looks as well. this is one of them, a nice late model wheel indeed

Great wheels, not so common. The only problem I've with is that they arrives very close the fenders with the CB perf spindles and the discs brakes. I have to use 135-15 tyres and it's very limit. Tyres touchs the fender.
I wonder if I will paint it grey again...
Do you notice differences between your and mines?

Here is another set of Ronals in 6 and 7*14 with 145 and 205/70. I shortened the frontbeam 6,6cm and use the small axle on the back.

Hi guys, this is my first post. Until now I was just reading and I have to say it's a great forum.

I like the Ronals also. Just bought a set of them for my bug. In the last months I put a lot work into them.

I painted and polished my wheels a little different but I like it  Smiley

Hi German Vdub!

Cool, a complet different look, like the Gasburners. What size are your rims?

And thanks j-f, i´ve seen the picture of your car stucking in the mud at Spa, first i thought it was my car, and get a heart attack! Grin

There are not so many cars around detailed Ronals.

Otto

btw: a company the Germany made the paint and polish on my rims.

@Otto/DFL - My wheels are 5,5x15. I saw your car in Bitburg and I have to say it's a great looking car. It influenced me by the choice of my wheels.

The part ogf the spoke that's closer to the center of the wheeel is different on some Ronal wheels : some are "empty" and some are "full" (can't say that in english  Huh).

They look great painted like this :

I love this thread.  Never saw it before.  For 2 years I was the Regional Sales rep for Ronal here in Huntington Beach CA. the US distributor.  Back then in the late 80's Ronal was quite popular.  The R9 was the big hit.  We were also Centra Wheels (Ronal/Centra).  I cant remember if Centra had anything for VW.  The German wheel company should have offered a few options for aircooled.
That was a crazy way to make a living back then.  Selling wheels on credit to half ass custom shops that rarely paid their bills.  Do not miss that at all.

Funny to see the Ronal wheel being used as they were never considered particularly beautiful.  The ones on this page were mostly made for Rally and Road racing.  I like seeing them.
