I've received an e-mail from a friend and went on line to verify.  Our dear friend Terry Terrell passed away yesterday.  For those of us who knew him we recently found out that his time was limited.

Terry was a car guy to the max and had some outstanding street rods over the years.  Beyond that he was a great and giving person and I'm so glad he called me his friend.  A year or so ago Terry phoned me and said he had something for me.  He brought over this beautiful framed DKP logo with the Cal-look Aronson car on it.  I was stunned and asked why he had done this, his answer "because you are my friend".

The car world in heaven has a new and great member now, but those left behind will always remember what a good and giving friend we had in Terry.  God Bless you my friend.  Here is the Mariner's Church site with some photos and info on Terry.

This is sad news/T.T. was my friend/classmate and neighbor back in the day with his clean DKP yellow sedan with empi 8  spokes and we always seemed to run into one another over the many years. It wasnt until as of recent my younger brother David called me to say he ran into T.T.'s brother and they reminised only to find out that Terry was ailing. A sad passing for "the gentle giant"....thank you for your inspiration..!! Dyno Don Chamberlin

Terry was the coolest guy. I remember when he was going to college in his yellow '68. IDAs, mag, books on the seat. He was always in a great mood. Later on, he really got into street rods, had a blown Donovan '32 all steel... Raced a 911 on the 57 freeway and went over 140mph before shutting it down, 911 was way back by then.... He considered building/buying another fast VW towards the end, but that never happened. So sad.

The link on Terry has been posted above, but I thought I'd add this in case anyone had a problem getting it to work.

What an unfortunate loss at such a young age. John, what took Terry's life at such a young age?

I've just returned from a Chrysler 300 Meet in Virginia and wanted to share photos of Terry's Memorial Service on May 11th.

First photo is Terry's '32 Ford Hi Boy on stage at his Church with other cars from one of his car clubs.
Next is "Terry Sayings"
Third is a DKP Memorial Gregg Bunch was kind enough to bring.
Fourth is Terry's '55 Chevy with a 502 no less..

A few more shots of Terry's Memorial:

First is Terry's Merc "Lead Sled"
Next are DKP cars belonging to Gregg Bunch, John Lazenby and Jim Holmes (Porsche)
Last, a group shot of DKP I, II and III members in attendance.
