modding dcnf's

does anyone know in detail (pics of possible) what mods berg do to dcnf carbs to the progression circuits to make them more streetable?

I have a set of both, Berg modded and not, and have always wondered the same.
I know there's a modifiation to the idle progression circuits and I'm sure there are others.
When I get a chance I'll pull them apart for comparison and let you know what I find.

For now, I can tell yo the progression holes are changed in size. Not all, but the top is larger where the lowers remain the same; not sure the exact size yet.
Don't know that I'll be able to get to the bottom, but they knew what they were doing ... just the right changes to make them work right.

ok thanks, if anyone else knows more details lets hear them. pics would be good to - i will post pics of what i have done to mine so far. bored out the chokes to 34mm, knife edged the butterflys changed the massive screwheads to counter sunk ones, etc.

Air-Cooled Engineering did my 44 DCNFs. I set them a cruddy set and asked them to do the mods and rebuild them. They sent me an estimate and found that the carbs were already modified and did not charge me for that labor. The estimate was $130 ea to rebuild, to modify the enrichment circuit $45.00 (install the plugs) + kits @ $44.00ea; then Jetting; and test run them on their test engine. The average set cost around $400 to $440.00.

Judging by the estimate and what I paid, I doubt anyone that does this kind of work will divulge their modding secrets here. It would just be bad for business. Maybe others would and post pictures.

I have to say that my carbs came back beautiful. Art Thraen and Dave, do excellent work and I was very satisfied.
