I dont think that EBI is a show that I can miss, that is for sure!! But what about Bad Camberg?? I like vintage cars as much as the next guy, but I think you see one restored stocker, you've seen them all Wink
But back to EBI... Im looking to stay for only a short time, probably only a week or so. Looking for some advise on locating a VERY inexpensive place to stay, and possibly transportation while Im there. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Go Go Bug-In!!! Grin

IMHO you'd be crazy to come all this waay and not 'do' Camberg at the same time. Camberg isn't all about rows of restored stockers, but one of the few places you'll see some incredibly rare, one-off machinery (like my new project  Grin), military VWs, coachbuilts and a selection of parts like you've never seen (all at especially inflated prices for rich Americans!). Go on, you know it makes sense!

I couldn't agree more with Keith
go BugIn and go Camberg
plenty of things to do in Belgium meanwhile the two events
sent over a Westy or any good solid bus, use it here, and sell in the UK afterwards to pay for some of the expenses
see you

Zach, you could do a tour around all the meetings in the second part of june.
Go to Budel in Holland 15/16 June, i could provide accommodation and you could cruise there with me and meet the dutch scene.  Cool
Go to Bad Camberg weekend after, and EBI the weekend after that. EBI will be a 3 1/2 hour cruise for me too and i'm still looking for accommodation, but hey i'm only offering  Wink

Wow!!! I really appreciate the offer!!!! But I really dont think all of that is in the cards Sad I have priorities at the VW Classic on the 9-10, so trying to fit in Budel, Bad Camberg, and EBI in the 3 following weekends would be impossible financially Sad I would be just thrilled if I could stay for a week and take in EBI Smiley

Any other help guys? Like where should I fly into?? What city I should stay in??? Im really a novice when it comes to this, and I could really use a point to start Smiley

Thank you!!

Get a passport, NOW!  It takes up to 2 months for one nowadays.

I would stay in a city like Brussels or maybe Ghent, lot's of cal-look fans around and not that far from EBI. (within 100 miles) Plenty of opportunity to drive around and go to the show in a cool car...  You will probably have to fly to Shiphol (Netherlands) or Brussels (Belgium)....

Greets, and see you at the EBI!!!

What would be cool is take a bunch of cal-lookers from the US over for EBI one year sort of like they did with the stockers to Bad Camberg several years ago. Ship em over, drive from the port to the show. etc... etc... Now that would be a cool vacation. Could probably get the wife's buy in on it if I let he free to go do some shopping.

would be very cool!
drive them from Socal to Newyork! (Redondo to NY Harbour, hehe Old Cannonball route!) then ferry to Aberdeen Scotland! Check out Russell's Toys and drive thru England, Chaneltunel train (30 minute train that goes under the North Sea from UK to France) and then it's just a 3 Hour drive from there to Chimay :-) easy game!
