Oh here you go then but I've wared you their not too pretty  Roll Eyes

Watcha think then ? I've still a lot to sort out , I'm going to fab up 4 little hump's to stich in either side of the manifolds on the head tin's and loose any excess holes  Wink
I've yet to find an early rear tin to fit the back tin correctly , but I'm sure one will turn up , really don't want to use any aftermarket shit !

Oh and I had a package from the states today only to find that the guy sent me a jet series tacho not the speedo i need  Roll Eyes FAIL !!!

that does look wide indeed. not pretty perhaps, but nothing a layer of powdercoat won't fix.
on the other hand, why would you run an early rear tin? you are running a doghouse cooler right?

ah, then i see what you mean. same problem here, the aftermarket front tin needs a fair amount of trimming.
the tins we like were only used on ovals and earlier then, i suppose?

Yes and no , yes I need an 30bhp tin coz of my silly narrow engine bay , even thow i've weleded in some of Hooky's side ledge's its stil bloody tight .
But no on a later car coz of the width of the motor is a lot more than a 30 horse front tin , which = even more work  Roll Eyes

keep up the good work, glenn!
just wondering, but doesn't it look like the steering shaft is a bit high where it runs under the fuel tank?

Nah its fine but i'm going to have a play with it while its all out , the rubber seal I fitted between the body and shaft never wants to stay put so more fiddling me thinks .
The split may have to go onto the back burner for next month any how as I've just put a deposit down on my old 67  Roll Eyes

Well with the 67 out of action  Angry I shifted my attention back towards the 49  Cool
Shifted it back into pole position in the garage , bled the brake's today & got the wing off to the painter's .
The engine tin and fuel tank will follow soon .
I hope to have the case and crank back soon so I can try again at the motor  Roll Eyes
Gonna rip out the old speedo pod this week and get the rest of the Jet series gauge's in  Smiley
Still need to track down another fake screw bezel / ring for the speedo , I'm told there was one at ebi , at the auto jumble on the big stand selling load's of cool gauge's .
I don't suppose anyone else saw it and knows the guy's ?
cheers Glenn

Hi Glen,

looking good. How's the motor progressing? Have you decided what you are doing with the 67?
Hope the ladies have fully recovered.

The motor  Cheesy  you not heard the one about the machine shop who lost the crank ? then tell you they gave it to someone else , then just when you start to think i've got to go find another one they tell you "we've found it " " oh and we still not done the work  Roll Eyes Angry
Apart from that not a lot on the engine  Embarrassed
The 67 waiting for a reply from the insurance , but its got to be a fixed as its gonna become my daughters first car and I only have 2 years till she's gonna start hassling me for the keys  Shocked
Lynne's still very uncomfortable but she's back at work , If the insurance see sense and go's our way there's gonna be one hell of an injury claim  Wink

Just had another look at it and the sender's actually an old VDO , so happy there .

The button under the speedo is an old Lucus one which will be for my roll control , the green illuminated switch above the tacho will be for my oil cooler and the little red one is for my screen wash  Wink
The other black rocker switches are lights and wipers .
No hyper drive switch yet  Grin

Blimey i really need to prioritize  Roll Eyes its been 9 months since my last up date , things have moved along just a little bit .
Spent best part of two days just wiring up the dash  Shocked first live up I was ready with the fire extinguisher  Cheesy but no heat or blows so all good .
Engine sarga take two  Wink
Bottom end buttoned up changed my mind on the cam again and went for the safer option with an 87 .
I've not got a lot on this week coming so I'm gonna get the motor in with luck , plumb it all up and get that cam bedded in .
Will post some pic's soon as there's anything worth a look  Smiley
First planned outing is gonna be Gary picnic  Cool
