Hey guys, it's been a while since the last time I posted something here... The car is still mine but has evolved a little bit and she is my only car since 4 years now !

So I have now Empi 8, repros from the 80's, and a Formula steering wheel, same manufacturer than the Speedwell if I'm right.

Yes I know, the car is not shiny but my student status doesn't allow me to afford a restauration yet...

The pictures are from this summer... Souvenir of the holidays  Cry

 Grin Grin Grin

And to finish, a little gift I made to myself who will be soon on the dashboard...

The tachometer is in the car now...  Smiley

And this licence plate frame is going to look nice on my decklid... I need "americanized" french plate now  Grin

Well, sometimes you don't need a show car to win prices... It was unexpected for me Grin

The car ran pretty well two weeks ago with 1200km in 5 days... 4.5 years mine and I want nothing but her !

So... I bought these scoops but I still don't know if I fall in "the custom side of the force" or if I let her as she is...

I would vote for the Scoops!  Grin
They will suit your car pretty well!

I don't what happened but a lot of my pictures have desappeared...

Anyway... The scoops I bought this summer are fitted and I made my best to match the patina !! I think I made it rather well...  Grin

Fun fact : even if the speedometer is not stock, it went back to 0 km last week... Meaning that I made around 60000 km in 5 years... Not bad for a piece of rust  Tongue

I'm a little bit disappointed because a lot of the pictures are disappearing on this thread... I'm gonna try an other way to upload them.

So... I repost the last one about the scoop I added last summer. Currently I just fixed my direction issues and made a geometry in the way to improve the car for the 2000 km road trip to the EBI in June... Can't wait !

One the other hand, 2 months to wait and I'm no longer student... This will determine how long I have to wait to start my new engine project who will turn to be a punchy 1600cc. Reasonable for a start...  Smiley

this car has attitude for sure. the scoops work  on this  car as well.
i really would lose the daily driven sticker, but too much stickers aren't my thing.

what i do always look at is the wheels. it seems the spokes on 'real' empi's and aftermarket ones are so much different. but i like them both, they give the car a different look nonetheless.

Bad news this week... I will not be able to make the trip to the European Bug In... To close to a big event who will determine my professional life, choices have to be made !!

Too bad because the car is ready to go !

Well, still trying to build a car as fun as possible, engine parts are on their way and door panels are gone for a refrechment  Smiley

Here are some pictures I took last weekend  Cool

Thank you !!

I went to a great road trip this weekend in the Cévennes, a mountain land in the South of France... A total of 600km, with 200km on narrow and curvy road ! My little engine is still strong and only consumed 6.6L/100km on the highway !!

It was too the opportunity for me to grab an "as new" 85.5 Mahle kit for my projet...  Smiley

Hey ! Thank you for taking news... Sadly, no udaptes currently as I just moved in a flat and I have now an other daily who needs some servicing... The bug didn't hit the road for two months and it's happening for the first time since I have her ! Hard times to live for me but I have very little time (and money) to focus on her. Plus the gearbox is slowly going to break, the 4th doesn't want to stay in  Cry

But... I am slowly buying a base engine for a 1600cc that I want to put in the car before the end of the year !

DDD is not planned but the next EBI will definitly be !!  Smiley

Here are my two cars, one for the straight lines, and one for the curves  Grin

I miss her... So I was checking some old pics and I realized I never posted these ones here... I like them, all the little details I put in. They show a good view of the vibes this car sends to me (I'm going to much sentimental haha)

Not so much... I have some issues, the battery won't charge and I don't know where it's from... My electrical abilities are shameful so I am not able to resolve this by myself.

The gearbox is still dying and "little money problems" (new school year, tuition fees, new flat, slow as f*ck administration...) delay the work planned on her.

I can't wait to drive her again but I have to be patient and it is starts to get long !!

Short term objective : be ready for 2017

Long term and unmissable objective : EBI 7 !

I have had a brand new battery go bad after sitting over the winter. Try taking the battery out of your daily driver and hooking it up to the bug if it works that means your battery is bad
