What is a good quality reg for 48's? I see a number of people running the Holley.

I've recently seen these regulators and was wondering if anyone has used them? They do look good. Any Experiences?

This is the ultimate in a compact, affordable fuel pressure regulator. Features billet aluminum construction, stainless mounting bracket, and stainless hardware. Compare to a Holley® 12-804 or similar regulator. Suitable for engines up to 450 hp. Use two units for higher hp applications with dual carburetors.

(1) 3/8-NPT Inlet Port (2) 3/8-NPT Outlet Ports .220 (7/16") Restriction

Hi Craig, I'm using the old cast reg. without no problems, seems to hold the pressure at 3 1/2 lb., but now seeing the new stuff, WOW looks nice. time to upgrade. I would say the new ones should be better. My 2 cents.

  4.5 to 9 psi   too much pressure.   I didn't read real carefully but it looks like the lowest they have  was 4.5 psi.

Jason, just below the 4 1/2 to 9 is the 2 to 4lb reg., looks good!

Hey Jason, Ya! looks real nice, Beetlejuice, I think I'm to order one also. Gotta be good. Had no problems with my cast one. Will soon see. Ya post some pics when you install it and a report on how it works also.

hi all bit of advice required regarding 48 idas ! would you use a regulator if your using CBs 3.1/2 PSI (CARTER) fuel pump ?

How high is the repuired fuel pressure for the 48 IDAs? Or what is the max. they can handle?

I believe with a Weber needle and seat is 3 1/2lb., with the after market glass needle and seat like JC sell, you can go higher. Maybe call Jack @ JC Ent.

Hey BeetleJuice, that is real nice. For awhile there I thoght it was a new design from Holly, but still looks cool, compact, I still may order it. as long as it holds 3 1/2lb, which I think it will. I checked out the web-site, the company has some nice reg. should work pretty good! What does the bracket look like?

You can go up to 5 lb. with the steel or glas ball needle and seat

That maybe true, but gotta admit, that new one still looks good and compact, a little shorter. Nothing wrong with a little new school with old school, I say.  Grin Like MSD vs Bosch 010.  Wink

Keep an eye on that regulator as well.... There pretty much the same as a holley, just billet.

I run the Carter fuel pumps with Mallory regulators.  I ran the Holley regulators for years but started having trouble with leaking and not having stable pressure. Switched to Mallory in both my cars.   Dave Rhoads
