It was a great run, and had James of not lifted (wuss Tongue  Wink) it would of been side by side 9's Smiley

Bernie also said at the the top just before we found out ' My back hurts, so i think it might of been a good run'

Next run they are both going for it again, Bernie has at least 0.6 to make up in his 60ft too !

Little Pete is busy working on his jets, our last run together was me with a 11.499 and Pete with a 11.500 we could see each other pretty much changing gear !

Drama at Shakey - this from Eurodragster:

"15:50
Outlaw Flat Four qualifying after session 4:
We had a huge downpour after the first pair. Drama on the re-start as Adele Woodbridge's Beetle turned hard left and spun in front of Peter Shattock's car, hitting the guardrail rear end first. Peter was able to take avoiding action. Adele is A-OK as is Peter. Some oil to clear up and then we'll be off again.

   1. Bernie Newbury 9.886/134.15
   2. James Wotton 10.089/138.43
   3. Adele Woodbridge 11.413/116.89
   4. Peter Shattock 11.500/114.60 "

Thanks for the concerns guys. Unfortunetly Eurodragsters comments were somewhat undertone as to the outcome.

The car took a sharp left due to unknown reasons.. possibly down to the track/wind however there was nothing out of place on the car, peter already got a little out of shape and thank god he stamped on the brakes otherwise i would of took him out completely.

The car hit the armco in the other lane at about 105-110 MPH then it spun 360 and hit the front right side before coming to sit in the opposite lane to which i started.

As a consequnce the rear took all the impact, and thankfully due to Wayne Allman and Chris Isaacs great work with the rear end, it did not move, which meant the engine and gearbox took it all. Case completely spilt on the gearbox with the bellhousing ripped apart. Engine case is cracked, pulley bent, manifiold ripped off. The righ throttle body also took so much force from the armco (!) that it pushed it into the luggage panel.

Front wing is gone, right rear is gone, right rear wheel and slick gone left rear torn at the dzus fastner, valance gone, front wheel well  consatinered upon impact.

The shell/body is a OK. and the rest of the car not mentioned above. We can hopefully re-shell the gearbox and then take a look at thye engine and maybe re-case dependents on the insides/

My heartfelt thanks go out to all that helped me today, what a fantastic bunch. I am A OK, Steve is OK, we are just gutted.  Sad

On an up note, Way to Go Bernie Smiley

Oh NO!!! Sorry to learn about your accident Adele. I hope you manage to fix this during the winter and that the car will be back stronger, faster and better looking than ever before.
