. Mine is buttoned and made of "stretch" leather, and for 380 to 425mm wheel. I don't know what brand it is (Auto Parts ?), it only says made in Western Germany. If I'm not wrong there was some Kamei covers like this. |

Don't know how to decipher that. Tell me where to look and I'd be happy to relay it to you. Look on the side near the bead for the letters "DOT" followed by some numbers that are inset, not raised. This is only on one side of the tire. Post the last 3 digits from all 4 tires. |

Hopefully when you bead them they wont be full of cracks on the sidewalls. Tires that old are not a very good idea to run. Tke it from a guy who is a service manager at a tire store.

That's how Michelin put the date on tires. Before 1980 I don't know how they write it. That tire was made in the 90s I think (or at least in France), you can still buy it new now. |

FNTB A4M X 255 is the whole number. If someone wants to buy me a new pair I'd happily use them They are $169 each + shipping from Coker. I know screwing around with old tires isn't the brightest idea (I've already been through 2 pairs of XZX's, a pair of 195/65's, and 205/70's on this car), but I don't have the wallet to buy new ones now and I hate how modern radials look on it. Someday the plan is to get a pair of Michelin XWX's on 6" wide Sprints... $$$$ |

Overall, I'm not against wider modern tires. Just on this car I am In my opinion, my GTV needs a vintage radial tire. I've tried 195/65's on the back and they looked wrong. Too wide, short, and the tread pattern didn't look right. 205/70's were way too wide and tall. I'd love some 185/70 XWX's, but I'd also like to stay current on my school loans The Vredesteins are ugly as sin and they don't make a 145. 165 XZX's are a bit skinny, but they look right, and they match the front 145's which is a big pet peeve of mine. My 145's are on 4.5's and the 165's are on 5.5's so they fit the rims very well (equally). |

Yep, triangle after 088 and yes I still have them. They are on my front wheels. Only 5,500 miles of towing on them. This is my car after sitting in the woods for 7 years.
