Just delivered, a shiny red toy for Phil. The 34 year dry spell has ended thanks to my friend Chip Wimer selling me his 66 VW out of storage (6 yrs). He and his boys have been successfully campaigning an alcohol dragster, in the mean time.
I guess now I'll something to post in "In Da Werks"  Grin
Beautiful car you got there Phil.

Thank you for the kind words, but the real compliments go to Chip and the usual gang of suspects, Lummus, Tims, Jimenez and the reclusive Bruto.
It's probably rare to buy a fully sorted race car that's nice enough to put on the street.  I most likely will just be a caretaker in the grand scheme of things,... have some fun... do no harm...pass it on.  C'est la vie

Nice car, Phil.... I love the color Roll Eyes Grin  So, are you planning to de-tune things a bit and add a fan shroud or leave it as is?

Thanks Sarge, as of right now I'd like to leave it racy as possible and sneak it out on joy rides. First things will be license plates, a wiring harness and
a muffler from Tiger. It sure feels good to be back in the saddle again! Hell, I'm damn near "sportin wood". Lets just call it therapy.

I remember that car running at Carlsbad almost 9 years ago.  I believe it was featured in Trends around that time.

Chip is one of the good ones, Phil.  I wondered what was on tap for that car with the boys busy on the digger.  Now, about that Type 3 Ghia.............
Best of luck with the car and enjoy it.

As I recall the car was running low 12's at the time. Later, Chip had the motor/trans redone and the chassis tweaked enough to take overall at one of the Bug-Ins, running consistant 11.60's.
He's come a long way from when he founded the Type 3 Ghia Registry...here's a pic of the digger.

Yes, slowly but surely. So far it's put a smile on my face like a poodle that just cleaned out the cat box. Thanks to Roger Crawford I'll have some DRF stickers on it and
will attend local events. If only to show the farmers up here what an old school 11 sec VW looks like.  Grin

Cool!!! Car will look Great with a set of DRF Stickers Another Old School Car
