are these catalogs like workshop manuals?
just wondering how many there are and what they're about. their products (e.g. berg5) or also performance mods in general?

The catalogs have Berg recommendations along with with part descriptions. It is actually a parts catalog.  There is some very interesting stuff in the Berg catalogs.  The 1981 catalog is an old one that I did not have so I was very happy to get it to add to my collection of Berg memorabilia.

Not sure when the first berg catalogs appeared, but this is pretty early (1976)

Lids I have that one.  Got it from a friend and there is a postmark of 1977 on it.  You are probably correct as the Berg catalogs were usually for two years.  Do you have any between that and the 1981 catalog?  How about between the 1981 and 1986.  I have the 1986-87 catalog and everyone since then.  Still wondering how many I am missing...

Donny mine is postmarked 1976, so i know its from at least then.  Like you I only 1981 and then a big gap.  I am sure I have seen either earlier than the '76 or in between 76 and 81.

I finally have some pics of what I got in the mail... pure mechanical poetry, as far as I'm concerned:

Steve Tims Stage II heads and match-ported manifolds...my first big-valve heads ever.  Can't wait to work on this build!  They're going on a 2017cc, Engle 125 equipped build with dual 45mm Dellortos.

Very cool, Richard! Those are the only ones I've ever seen besides the one I had. Did you find out anything about them?

I still don't know anything about them except they are the only pair I have seen except for the one you had.
I'm sending an e-mail to Tom Lieb, let's see what he says.

That's what I have in engine. I got them in the coated flavor from Heads Up Performance about 10 years ago and they were twice what you paid.
