I had seen this before and failed to order it, then when I went to get one I couldn't find them any more.  Last week I received a Mid America catalog in the mail and there it was so I ordered one.  I have been known to drive in heavy rain.  My stock switches all leak.  They didn't use to leak but they all do now.  I will be able to have a modern washer in my car for the next time I get caught in the rain.  It fits in the stock location...!

how do you hook it up? isn't the pump electric so you need an additional switch?

I remember reading a feature in volksworld a while back now and the owner had Modified an original wiper/washer switch so that the original center push part for the original washers activated a micro switch which in turn activated an electric washer pump/bottle - Very neat little trick  Wink Smiley

I'll probably do something like this.  I have a few stock '67 switches to play with.

That's cool the reservoir fits in the stock location. My GTV ('72) doesn't have the provisions to secure a reservoir since the original one went on the stock spare wheel. When I got a matching Sprint Star spare, it no loger fit. So I've got a reservoir with integral pump from a Mexican Beetle that mounts to a couple of the fender bolts. Works a treat Smiley

hey Donny B,

Does the switch you show have a micro switch that is activated by pushing the old manual plunger in the middle of the wiper motor switch?  I have to get one of these too. I will have to check out your installation.  I guess it means I have to drive my car in bad weather too. Yikes? The small 9" chopped down wiper blades will be interesting to test.

Yes the idea is to use the original switch with the button in the middle to activate the micro switch for the washer.  Make a trip over to my house and we can figure it out.  I haven't done it yet.

Have no fear. I drove the Chop-Top for about 200 miles one time in pouring rain. No big deal. Well, apart from 200bhp, a Quaife and wet French roads… Cheesy

Keith...that was hillarious!  I guess I should just give it the RAIN-X treatment and put the pedal on the floor. I have some nice Pirelli rear tires for rain.... :-)
