Yup, I bought it from Johnny. The main difference between this and the other 8k tach is that this one is made to be mounted under or on top of the dash instead of in a gauge panel. At the bottom it says "mfd for empi by faria."

Here is an interesting find at Iwindale today, at the Hot VWs Drag Day swap meet.... So Randy Carlson had a ton of new stuff (actually old '70s parts, but new to all of us). So me's see this group of engine-turned panels that are no doubt from Haneline.... I jumped on them, and tonight, I carefully removed the glovebox cover, and this is what I found on the backside! Ernie Haneline signed this one in person! There is also some kick panels and door edge covers included.

Got a very well wrapped package all the way from San Bernardino CA this morning, this will now be coming with me from Windsor in the UK back to Singapore and then on to Brisbane Australia to be fitted on my Notchback which will then be shipped back to Singapore and then on to the UK, so will certainly clock up a few airmiles!

Ernie Haneline, there is a name from the past.  He use to deliver his parts to the Auto Haus Buena Park store.  I had some of his stuff on my car.  Threshold plates with kick panes and headlight surrounds as I recall.

Ernie was a real kick and I'll always remember some of his wild stories.  One that I remember him telling was how he got the mom and daughter in bed at the same time.  He must have been 70 when this happend according to him.  Seems to me that he lived in South County right along the beach.

Definitely one of those memorable guys I met way back when.    Grin Grin

Recieved my 010 from Glenn Ring today, did a fantastic job on it. This one is kinda special. It had belonged to Mark Herbert. Bought it from Mike some time back at Drag Day. Mike told me it had belonged to Mark. So finally had it restored by Glenn. I do have a rotor and NOS brown cap for it. May use it in my new motor as a tribute to Mark. RIP Mark.

Ted that does look great.  I guess it's time to send my two 010 distributors to Glenn and have him do his magic!

Hi Donny, yes, Glenn does a great job, this is my second one, they are flawless. Planning on sending my 019 Screamer to him if does not sell on the Samba. One thing for sure, you won't be disappointed with Glenn's work.
