I got some original, unrestored, near perfect, blue plates for my Ghia.  Not registered for my car, so I'll use them only for shows and photos.

A pair of brand new Flat 4 BRMs that looked like a bargain until I realised they are the old style ones and I've got zero chance of getting another 2 or 3 to match.  Sad

What does an old style look like? I bought my 4 quite a few years ago but bought another one to use as a spare 3 1/2 years  ago  to  use on my spare and it has very high shine paint on the spokes. Came from CB and just too much trouble to send back. My old ones have sort of a flatish pebble look on the spokes.

How old - do you mean the very early ones with the heavier, squarer rim? If so, There were four of those on Tar Babe when Russell bought it. Very different to the usual style.

The ones I have are very glossy and without the casting marks in the black bits. Allegedly Karmann Konection have some, I'll see today.

Interesting, I got my set sometime around 99 (I think) used through johnny Abbott.
If my memory serves me right I think they came off of James clays bug after it was
Painted black. Funnily enough I've been thinking of selling them & getting the new
ones. I had them chemically stripped, polished & repainted them myself.
I'll post a pic if I can find one.
