Those are unusual Eddie, I don't pay a huge amount of attention to Type 4 engines, but even so I can't remember ever seeing bolt on rocker covers for them other than the Remmele ones. Rare pieces indeed!

I've just thrown away a set of bolt-ons which were on my 914... Factory steel ones with clips don't leak!

As posted elsewhere. New to me a 78mm stroker crankshaft. Any information on it would be appreciated. Just looking at history of it, success’s with it. Only ID I have is it’s part number in the pic. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Not bad scored a true set of original empi GTV dash panels and Glovebox scored on the samba Ofcourse they had VDO gauges in them but I removed them and luckily they tested fine and in working condition Scored the vanguard shifter On eBay for practically nothing and got the empi ventwing locks From my friend down under (thanks Oli) scored the centerline in the local paper. Not bad for a week of just looking online

My Nankang 145s arrived yesterday, £70.60 with free delivery from Germany! As said in the other thread, the sidewalls are a bit modern looking, but they'll do, especially at that price! Hopefully I'll be able to take them into school next week and mount them up - it's handy having a tyre machine in your classroom...

A couple of weeks ago, my Magneto from vertex, they went through it and reconditioned it along with a polish job, for my 56 project.

Long shot I know, but does anyone know if Berg still reconditions their shifters?

Hi RestoJohnny,
Is that EZR shifter with a black or wooden gear knob?
Cheers, Dave.

Hi dave it came with a black 69 knob looks good but I’ve already put a wooden empi knob on it.  Will probably change it back to the black knob looks nicer in my opinion.

Don't suppose you'd want to sell the black one? Huh
I already have a wooden one, and a GTV wheel, but am looking for black rather than wooden to suit my car....
Cheers,
Dave.

Depth gauge for me. I'm thinking of going through the original 1192 mill from my bug. No idea what the end game there is, but where's the fun in that?

I've heard that a late 1200 motor is a good basis for something a bit more lairy because they dont rev hard enough to pound out main bearings and so on. Maybe turn it into a 2007 or a 2165 so you've got a performance engine with the original matching numbers?

Oh, don't do that, you'll get me in trouble. I'm ok with the current 1776 for now. For start, I wound that 1192 up to 75 mph once, maybe 3750rpm - its probably ruined  Grin

Ive got a late mexican 1200 that dropped a valve - theres a bitnof damage inside the case where the head of the valve rattled about, but i figured it'd all be machined out  if i had it cut for 94mm pistons! One day I'll get around to it!
