surely out of theme and not very cal, but we are very happy for this new arrive and we want to share joy with people tht will understand this car, ugly but important and fascinating.

italian version empi sportster named ATL EXPLORER 1

number 3 of 80 built

very well preserved, only to repaint and rebrake completely.

came with suicide detatcheable doors and half metallic upper door with sliding glasses. canvas original green top.

has some variations fron empi, especially in rear part. engine is covered
cause italian winters aren't similar to californian ones!!!

conditions of the car are very very good. rust came only because car was built in kit, sold in bare metal. customer had to care for paint. and did a very shitty job.

rust came on the body not for the water exposure (always been in a garage, and it was used ten times in total) but for paint lifting in some points.

paint come up but you have silver metal under it, not rust!!!!

then metal become rusty for air wetness.

so mechanically car is very good: only thinghs we will care about are the brakes.

we want to do a very precise restoring job. plating every screw, polishing all aluminum parts (3 !!!)  and painting every part.

we will leave it original as it was sold in 1970, tht is as u see in pictures.

vintage in one word.

it was based on an oval beetle. still has split case gearbox.

was nice to hear u!!!!
