hey guys, i want to have a bigger fuel tube in the tank so i dont have a problem with fuel suppy; what do you use for your performance engines? the stock is 6 mm and i think it will be too smal.... i thought about tapping the existing bung and screw on a fitting, but i think the tube must be bent in order not to touch the chassis..... almost ready to start

It's about time! Very nice! Does that mean you'll be breaking it in with a nice long drive to Bitburg this weekend?

From my past experience and Ratto can vouch for this, you may have the distributor drive installed 180 degrees out of index.

i misplaced the plug wires on my ignition then it ran good, allthough i can only open the throttle 40%, looks like i need to change something at the pedal.. but in the way to bitburg i got an oil leak from ( i think ) the pulley, i have a big breather box ( no filters there yet ) and i think its coming from there as well, the whole engine bay is misted but oil pressure was good an oil got to about 110 °C do you guys know what could pressurize the case so much? i thought a little drip is normal because its running in, but this is a bit much

I think oil temp is still acceptable, because its running in... maybe today i ll start it up again and see if i feel pressure at the breather box i surely hope it not because of the scat pulley....

I think oil temp is still acceptable, because its running in... maybe today i ll start it up again and see if i feel pressure at the breather box i surely hope it not because of the scat pulley.... When a friend of mine put a Scat aluminium pulley on his engine, it immediately developed an oil leak from behind the pulley. After removing the pulley you could see that the oil return groove wasn't machined any where near to how the deep the stock pulley is. He took it to a machine shop who agreed to machine it 'off the books'. When he picked it up they had done the work well but said it had been a lot harder than they anticipated as the oil groove has three start points so it is really three different grooves and it took a lot longer than the lunch time they had hoped to get it done in. Getting it machined did fix the oil leak for him.

i am gonna attack it "cave man style" with a dremel and try to make the grooves deeper.... i know, its not optimal but what the heck, i cant use it like this anyway probably

Hey guys, the leak was coming from a few places: where the oil pressure switch is, from the dipstick, from behind the pulley, and out of the breather box; so i finally bought some filters for the breather box, plugged the dipstick with som fuel line, and got rid of the t piece that kept coming loose and it almost doenst leak anymore me happy still a bit behind the pulley, but maybe thats from overfilling still tuning now, had to change to an alternator, because the poor gen couldnt supply enough current so my battery went flat from driving damn electronics.. i wouldnt have that problem with carbs but it starts running better and better

if your running a deepsump ruff dont overfill the engine.it will leak from everywhere.only fill to the lower dipstick line or the minimum level on the dipstick.

Make sure you're not running too lean, 110 C. is excessive.

Subject: 2276 questions
Darn, I thought this was a thread about two thousand two hundred and seventy six queries. Apparently, such is not the case. I have no business here... I believe in chrome plated stock engines, rat rods, and hoodrides. I'm gonna go deflate my airbags and scrape some valance(s).
Ruff, any luck getting your engine dialed in?

with a deep sump and extra filtering and cooling the system has more than doubled its capacity.when revving the motor high it seems to overflow from all areas due to high pressure.by dropping the oil level down to the minimum level the system copes better but there is more than enough oil getting to the case so its not starved of oil like you would think.

had a fire yesterday... a fuel line rubbed somewhere and was cut... add to that a backfire out of the bodies and what you get is a ball of fire luckily my extinguisher was close by, so i could save my car... not much has been burnt though will check it out this evening
