Some news from the dyno....
«

Our resident racer N20; has spent the last days with the car on JPS dyno... The engine is a fuel injected 2332 with JPM modified CE CNC heads. It's set up to run with Nos, but still managed a impressive 253 @ 7000 rpm (don't know the nm) The heads flows 240 (Swedish :-) ) cfm btw.
They had some problems the first run with Nos, the ignition didn't back down, so the spark was blown out like a candle. With this fault it did 275@5500 and made 340nm @ 5700. Which in Johannes words was "sjukt" (sick). This is with smallest Nos injectors on it.
The issue was fixed and everything was set up very safe, low bottle pressure, little spark advance and so on, It now makes 279@7000. Which N20 is happy with, it's now running safe in every aspect and has a lot of potential for more fun and games....

Wow! Congrats N2O!
Have to ask... what`s the point with only adding a 25-26hp NOS shot? Heck, I did not even know that you could get jets so small
Put the big guys in their and let this thing fly!
BTW; care to explain the difference between Swedish CFM and CFM from other countries...?
And was there any major dfference between the computer based result and the actual result?

Well, there seems to be a big difference between "Swedish" CFM and the CFM reported by CB Performance.
It's correct that N20 has designed this engine on the computer, in "Engine Analyzer". But as the makers of the programmers clearly states in the program, it only shows
trends
... and the results should be dealt with accordingly. But as far as I know, there was no major surprises.
I trust N20 will fit larger jet's.... but as anyone who has seen their pride and joy on the rollers can testify... you need nerves of steel...

By the way, the jets are not that small
The most important is the size of the balls, they need to be bigger than the jets..... 340nm and the car going sideways on the roller.....

Sorry guys, we tried... We can not report bigger numbers with current ingnition systems... We need more spark
When the engine make 275hp at 5600, the plugs is like candles in the wind. They are out, they do not handle the pressure....
But the curve frome 4000-6000 is like Dantes Peak.. ........

Size of the jets are one thing, fuel-pressure and nitrous pressure is another..... It is currently set up with 18/22 n2o/fuel, 7PSI fuelpressure and 890-900psi bottlepressure. This is more than safe.... (A/F =11) and it is adding 25hp on top. When we did a power run with 960-970 psi pressure the same setup added more than 55 hp around 5 to 6000 rpm....

Hmmm, interesting N2O.
What hp did you have without the nos @ 5600 rpms compared to the 275hp result with juice?
I did not think that the bottle pressure would make such a difference when you anyway are in the operating pressure between 900 and 1100 psi. When I did my first pull on JPM`s rolls my bottle pressure where 880 psi and on the last pull it was 970 psi but there where no change on the outcome. As a matter of fact, I jetted the system to 40hp and that was pretty exactly what the rolls showed as well.

900-950 is the operating pressure of nitrous oxide. Never go beyond 1000psi.
The reason why you did not "feel" any difference between 880 and 970 can be several. Your location of nozzels, unstable fuelpressure etc. When you increase the nitrous pressure by 10%, you will also increase the abillity to "eat" fuel and that should normally mean more power...If the fuel are there...

Well, you have to think about twin spark like the Fuhrmann engine from Porsche
Awesome job btw!

I'll will try the following:
1. decrease the chargeup time to the coil (controlled by the onboard computer)
2. Put a CDI-box between the ignition module and the coil. (CDI = capacitiv discharge ingnition, like MSD or simular
(The CDI box will feed the coil with 450volts instead of only 12 volts from the ignition module)
I'll think this will do the trick.
Here is a link to the building of the engine.

That thread of your engine build is great reading... and there is nothing there that would spoil a cal-look street engine... except titanium retainers...!!
I am impressed

Here are some old man tips. Whatever they are worth. Titanium reteiners works flawlessly on a street engine.....11,8:1 compression ratio too.....98 RON and 1 mm deckhight is my "top secrets" to have it live!! Love hard core engine pictures........sort of explains things better then words. I do not like the opening of a spur on the lifters.....makes oil go out to the cylinder head when you do a turn!!

I took some pic's of N20 at GIR saturday... his 253 hp 2332 engine pushed him over at 11.32.... at 190 km/h...!! when he gets used to it, I <- think we will see him in the high ten's
I took a crappy video to, you can download it here:
