Hi .

Yes trouble on the reverse gear, i open the gear box and fix it, and check the forks setting.
Rudy sold 2.7L autocraft and gearbox .

He swap for Mendeola swingaxle.

Rudy use Newbeetle's IRS  spare box for the new supportframe,  the Mendy swing is ordered .

So the Phantom Ghia is not 'phantom' anymore?  Shocked

That _was_ my favorite car/Ghia all-time hands down.... Cry

And people get upset when an old Gasser gets restored  Huh
Now, this is really upsetting.
Mah, probably only just to me ;-)

Looks like the shell went through a typical US restoration to me so I guess it is  Smiley

Bye any chance do you know the rim size and offset or backspaceing on it. I'm going 8" rim but need to figure out offset. I like the deep dish look and I'm doing custom trailing arms for 3-5" narrow. I want 1-1.5" clearance from fender so tire removal is not to much problem. I was thinking 3" or 3.5" backspace
Thanks

Hi .

This now the trouble for Rudy, because he want widder/bigger tires.
Originaly on Phantom ghia tire is 8.5 by 24" .
And on ghia when you are very low the tire may touch the top of rear fender during hard launch ...

I ask to Rudy for the offset .

Shell again ...

to save the tire and for more fender rigidity, Rudy weld a plain tube.

Rudy need to rework the frame of front and rear wind shield.
Due to the shopped roof (originaly on PG)

Before this Rudy returns to the chassis .

Here is a newbie question, what is the purpose of the coil over? Undecided
