No offense to the owners of the sometimes legendary busses, but the last few pages I have seen a lot of race busses, one of the checkboxes ticked, but needs more to be cal-look (or less  Grin). I have also seen a lot of support busses, very cool, but to be the center piece of a cal-look line up instead of lurking in the background  Huh Some campers, perfect for towing the racecar and sleeping at the track (some even race them). Finally some true 80'ties lookers, very period correct, but somehow a period I wouldn't want to be seen in  Shocked

Some of the entries are very close or even spot on. Dyno Don's, Jesus's and the Auto Technics bus spring to mind, though the last two could do something to loose the trim!

So, I'm not convinced! Give me more!

Or else ... Might this be the epitome of type 2 California Look? According to the seller it is, what do you think?

The red the yellow Double Cabs are my all time favorite Cal Look busses. I had those pics on my wall for a long time when that issue came out. Some day I will be able to afford a killer DC!

No, it's not mine.

Yet  Grin

People who know me do know I have a weird taste for freaks (when it comes to cars, I would never ever call my girlfriend a freak!). I did send the current owner/seller an email, but I wouldn't go as far as calling this Cal Look. I don't think I would ever be allowed into a Wunderwaffe line up.

But if this isn't a cal look bus, then what is?

Correction, the mid to late '80s were bad for most Cal Look VWs. Not all, but most of 'em just went completely weird.

Rick, you're spot on with that comment. HA!

Ahh the mid 80's..the wonderful colors, trends and fasion statement we went through. Just like awkward adolescence, but we turned out ok, for the most part.

SCC bus is one of my favorite, and the OCIR bus just needs a big engine.
