Is it possible to use a pull type clutch on a T1, im fitting a G50 box over the winter and I am looking at my options for flywheels and clutches so it would make sense if a could use a 911 plate and disc. I mainly concerned about the crank thrust bearing load using a pull type any body got any ideas

you can convert it to a push clutch, by using a hydraulic thrust bearing. then you can use a 'normal' clutch cover. Works a treat on Russ Fellows car.

What clutch do you have ? On a 228 porsche clutch you have to weld the Type1 flywheel on outside diameter

I have a TIV billet flywheel for a 911 225mm clutch. It is just a flat flywheel...what the heck, I have some pictures. It is made out of SIS 2541 which is pretty much a Swedish 300M. Not for sale but maybe the pictures help?

Yes , this is how it looks like when you have a porsche clutch. I have one of this for sale but it is for a type 4 engine. I also have a welded type1 that needs to be modified A 228 mm is very big , may be someone knows a smaller one ?

Not neccesarily. I just remade a OEM type 1 flywheel for 228mm by just machining, no welding done. It now fits my G50 so the 1200 motor can get in

good news back from KEP Ok that number is for a late G50 1990-1994 open diff. You should have a bushing in your starter pocket to support the end of the starter. Please verify this. The flywheel for that is a lot more expensive (i it would be ) and the ring gear is bolted to the flywheel. The cost for that flywheel is 542.00 USD the cost for the clutch kit is 902.00 USD Shipping around 155.00 USD and then the import charges so looks like its now possible thanks a few emails just got to sell my right arm now cheers andy

May be it is the same . The price for a porsche clutch is nearly the same if you have a steel clutch (Aluminium 1200 euros ) . I was suprised about the bolt on gear ring only ..
