I'm not sure and never payed attention to this... but do the parking lights stay on when the headlights are on...? Mine turn off ...?

Yup, they turn off. You can wire them to stay on.

Yes, 1967 Type 1 parking lights will be in the off  position when the headlights are on, and they'll be on only when in the first/parking light mode. Like Zach posted, some people opt to wire them differently to stay on when the headlights are on. It's personal preference.

In the US, 1968 and later cars come this way along with side marker reflectors because of a change in DOT regulations.
