As some of you may now know, we have fixed a date for the next Drag Day at Santa Pod raceway, Wellingborough, England.

The date has been set to April 16th (RWYB) & 17th (Peak perf. Day) - that gives two whole days racing if desired.

Racing is open to quick (cars must be capable of 15.99 and quicker) flat four VW derived engined vehicles - the quicker the better!

Drag Day 2011 is going to see an awesome mix of cars, from pure & perfect cal lookers, battle worn street warriors and full on drag cars, thanks to the regular showings from the SAS RENNWAGENS, the JG54 the ACE and DKR. For the first time we will also be being joined by the OUTLAW FLAT FOUR club who will be coming along as a club and are certain to put on an impressive display of horsepower, and the prospect of lining up against some of their cars has my mind working over time already!

Various details are still to be finalised, so watch this space for further information, I will update on the website www.ukdragday.com along with this forum, the cal look section of the Volkszone forum and also our facebook page, along with issuing out email updates to those who have signed up.

Tickets for the Sunday racing are as usual limited to 100 cars, and as soon as we have booking information available we will be emailing out all previous participants on the mailing list - if you wish to register your interest please email drag-day@live.co.uk and you will get a heads up on all the event information before we issue it onto the forums. Facebook address is http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001344360778&v=info

As those who have attended before already know, this event is ALL ABOUT THE RACING. The company of fellow racers and the roar of the flat four is the entertainment, dressing up is limited to race suits and helmets. Dancing will take place, but is likely to involve a steering wheel and an attempt to launch in a straight line.

Spectators & visitors are always welcome and with the quality and variation of the cars in attendance it should be a real treat.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING AS MANY OF YOU AS POSSIBLE THERE!

Closest would be Rotterdam / Hoek van Holland. Belgium is also possible for me.

I'd love to make it to this.

My only concern is that I've got 3 'DRC rounds almost back-to-back: Easter Thunderball the following weekend, Big Bang a fortnight after that, and Springspeed a week after that. It can't be good to spank your motor 4 weekends out of 5 when I know I don't really have the time to fix it if anything goes pear-shaped. I'll have to give this some thought.

Hi Kev,

Its heading into the workshop this week for a few minor and one or two major changes, but yes, I'll make sure it'll be there then! Hoping the car will be on the street for late february, as I want an MOT this year so I can take part in my club's street events. And obviously hunting lower times!
