Thursday was one of those days that you have to pinch yourself to realize just how cool this all was. For all the days you sit in traffic, or a dentist chair that just plain sucks, and then you enjoy an afternoon like this. Mark went out and got us all Double-Doubles from In-N-Out Burgers, and then we went upstairs and watched two hours of home movies from when they raced the Lightning Bug, on the road with the Deano gasser. Hearing the dragster's massive Type 4 engine's throttle rap, watching and smelling the smoke coming off the newly painted exhaust, and seeing Paul and Mark smile like they were back in 1975! I think I just got my Christmas present a little early.

That original sidedraft intake system did not work at all. The carburetors were soooo far away from the intake, that it was a tuning nightmare. You gotta remember that T-4 IDA manifolds were just not around back then!

Remember that photo with the sidedraught carbs showing all that fuel stand-off?

Sorry for resurrecting this thread from the dead but does anyone know what wheelbase the dragster ran and does anyone have any bare chassis pictures stashed away they would share?

Regards...Steve:)
