See you at the NEXT EUROPEAN BUGIN!!! Summer 2011!

WWW
« on: April 09, 2007, 00:07:17 am »

Happy easter,
well the weather here in Belgium is optimal! feels like summer allready!

so i drug the old Baywindow from Dave Geriner out from it's storage spot.
this van i got it California a few years ago, and with bugin comming up it's time it sees the road again.

i'll try to post some pics from time to time when i do some stuff to it, i'll post some of the cool california look details it got on it!

Dave bought it in 83 i think and in 1985 he installed the Fuchs, it has a 914 based 1800cc engine with dellorto's on it.
(Dave's an ex-autohaus employee, who runs Proformance in Orange today)

keep ya posted

This bus is really cool. I never really liked the later bay-windows before I saw this bus in your garden. There is something with this bus that makes it look just right...

Dave used to own Auto Haus Long Beach & then he bought the Orange store. I bought my 1st VW parts from him for my 1st car.  72 type 3. Very nice guy. I have a late Bay window w/ Fuchs now , I think they look cool. Mine is a camper,so it has too much stuff in it to go jumping.   Bill

Ron works for Scat now. I bought one of my first Baywindows from him in the early 90's. Its a very small world in the So Cal  scene. How is Texas treating you these days? I saw those pics. of the Americans & was drooling....I had mine & sent them down the road. I would think differently today.   Bill

In the window reflection you can see a '70 bug... what you cant see is the dogleg Porsche 5 speed and 4 bolt Ronals Smiley I picked that up from Dave a couple years ago for a friend and drove it back to AZ from CA. It was a cool little car. Dave is a good guy!!

Rool, here is a start for you... it's washed! and it looks nice dull california sunshine baked!   but yes.. i will polish it to save it but i won;t ultra buff it, there is still some pinstriping left on there want that it stays like it is battered and bruised, it's got this (what i personally find) irreplaceable California Patina and vibe to it and i want to keep it like that!

i'll buff the fuchs a bit, maybe re-tint the windows..

now first it needs a propper brakejob, new tires and a carb adjustment, then the rest!  Grin

and Yvre... Yes i will tow a f#$%ing Caravan to the show!               a very light one, metalflake, with slicks, and it only sleeps one!

Hmm, wouldn't have been raced by Doug Church at Blackbushe, UK, and then by D Lowry in the USA by any chance? Wink
