thanks mark, i found this pearl in the west of kenya.

i did see some vws around, some more or less trashed beetles and once i saw an abandoned fastback in a town.

one time i heard some roaring boxer sound and saw the glimps of what might have been the most customised beetle of the contiment, still not impressive and made me long for my car back home, safely in the garage!

If you look very good, you'll see how the pontoons tilt down to either side of the car. So this doesn't make the car a U-Boat, rather a Schwimwagen!

And then with that humongeous canopy, out in the middle of the lake with a Mojito, who can spell PARTY!

upon closer inspection, those pontoons pivot down. the entire car is well above water, so it is a schwimmwagen!!!
