Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with these type of thermostats?

http://cgi.ebay.nl/Racimex-Olkuhler-Adapter-3-4-Zoll-mit-Thermostat-/250618309133?pt=Autoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item3a5a03ea0d

Seems to mount between the oil filter and bracket?

I use the version made by Earl's: http://www.holley.com/504ERL.asp

That Racimex thermostat is sand-cast aluminum, the casting doesn't appear fantastic, and the machined surfaces are not shown in that pic. As long as the casting finish isn't representative of its porosity and the adapter is machined properly, it will probably work fine.

I am using this type of racimex thermostat:

http://cgi.ebay.nl/Racimex-Olkuhler-Thermostat-VW-Golf-1-2-3-GTI-G60-VR6-/290516290839?pt=Autoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item43a41ecd17

Mine is working fine for the last 8/9? years. You could even modifiy them for more oil flow but I nevered opened mine.

The Racimex filterstyle one looks very restrictive for the oil flow. I would not use it.

No hoseclamp-style for me ever. I'm using the MOCAL with -8 in/outlets for years. Perrfect. speedflow.uk.com # 574-OT-08.
Your oil-lines will stay "fully oiled" all the time.

Jesse, i also used and tested the US "cheap" thermostat over the years, works perfect, you just have to buy the adaptors for your oil-lines... And your oil-lines will stay "fully oiled" as well.
