I like the ride and the feeling of the gearbox.
I would like to find out more.
Did a search on Aussieveedubs but found nothing.
I can find out through Google that the car is 2543 cc and has a turbo drawthrough.
7,94 et.
Also found some other videos and the car drives very straight and nice. Launch is clean, even though at 4000 irpm it feels a slight bit low.

Anyone know more or can get us a contact?
I am mosty interested in the auto mods he has done.

That car was imported from the USA as-is.
(and I think it is really only 2442cc, despite what the current owners think).
I think the Auto has been serviced by a local VW Auto expert called Lawrie Svenson(sp?),
who runs a business called German Auto in Brisbane.
He is more into Off Road than anything drag racing related, but had done a lot of R&D on the Auto transaxles.

Dave grainer, was the original owner and builder of this car in the US,
and I think it ran low 10s in the USA with a "shot".
The current driver runs very low sevens(7.0?) on the 1/8 mile over here.

Just got contact with Rohan.
Let us see if can post some more information from him.
Yeah, it is a matter of 94 or 96mm bore. The 96 were really not that common and are quite expensive to build.

To do 96 mm on a turbo car does not make sense either, if it is not so that it was built on "left over" parts.
I followed Dave Greiners car way back when it popped up on the Cal Look.com  forum and some magazines.

The motor has an 88mm Bugpack flanged crank with wiseco 94's. The tall cylinders have been power sleeved to a
96 bore, Thus the confusion. We ran a best of 10.25 @135mph in the 1/4 mile, and won the top speed award at
Drag Day one year with a 106.8mph in the 1/8th mile. The baron barely eclipsed that last week with a 126MPH BLAST!!
Rohan even drives the car to the Track!

Hi Dave and Dominick,
A pleasure to get your presence in this forum and on this topic.

Tried many years ago to get in touch with you Dave, on topic of your car but then I went and bought a turnkey 090 from Dave Folts.

Well done and congratulations on your old car. Must be good feeling to see someone take over and do it succesfully.
No transbrake, right?
Just the normal brakes and then a shot of nitrous?

Good day again Frallen.I flew up to Warwick last October to the VW Drags and to see Rohan's car run.I was impressed with how the auto performed.I had a good chat to him about the car.He didn't have much knowledge about the internals of the trans, but had done nothing to it since it arrived here (it's not been opened up ) He said he launches at about 2,500 and it has no lag-just launches hard and he did some good times with it.I am still plugging on with mine.I have fitted the spool and all new bearings and seals, set the diff up and painted it.Auto is still away being rebuilt.Closed the engine up last night-finishing the intake and exhaust next.
