Don't think they need front wheels!

Maybe they should just fit one in the middle

I have to admit if I wasn't into Aircooled VWs I would have built a turbo 3 rotor in a starlet, it just looks so much fun and the cost per ET/MPH is so much less than what we do

I have to agree with Richie, they are mental cool. They look right, sound incredible and go like the clappers. I have a hankering for an old RX-7 or something similar. They have all sorts of bizarre classes like 3/4 chassis, 1/2 chassis and things like that. Look into the Puerto Rico drag scene for some inspiration Danny, or even Australia.

I have to agree, it is one of my favourite race cars and the sound is out of this world. But are you sure it is so much cheaper compared to what we do? Looking at the 8 - 9 second rotary race cars for sale they are WAY more expensive compared to our cars. 7 second and faster cars are almost unobtainium. I have also been told that the rotary builders keep everything for themselves and looking at their homepage and rates it is fair to say they are not cheap. I remember reading about a cool looking Rotary Golf MK1 from Germany and the owner said that he contacted most of the best known builders and not one was willing to help.

We have a good rotary builder here in Norway that is getting close to some serious HP numbers now. Maybe we will see him at a race track soon?

Indeed. The car was featured in the Swedish 'Bilsport' magazine a few years back.

The fact they can use some stock parts including the case made me think they are cheaper, but if the info isn't available to make them work then maybe not, I think the re sale prices are higher because there is more of a demand for them, the market place is bigger and growing unlike our scene. A lot of the parts used are pretty much bullet proof as well in the tube cars such as the rear end and G force trans, having watched a few it seems the main thing that breaks is the body panels Shocked Wink

Street legal, 13b turbo, pre turbo water/meth injection, runs on pump gas has run 8.6. Rotaries are huge down here in NZ. Pretty sure it's a hilux LSD rear end, not sure on the gearbox. It's referred to as the workshop hack, good for getting pies at smoko.
