Is there somewhere a good description (with a lot of pictures) how to make a removable apron without damaging to much paint on a already painted car...

That depends on what you use the back end of your bug for... it makes up for some of the lost strength... if you need strength back there...

Regular use?? I also have a berg traction bar will that give enough strength of will it weaken the brackets?
