if I could change over my swingaxle trans (which, while a bit old still runs fine) to IRS configuration?  What would be involved and what would I have to order?  Are there certain swingaxle differentials which are compatible with IRS?
Thanks for any help.

I don't think so... You'll need a new diff, side covers, stub axles, etc. Is your swing trans "built"?
